Since 2010 we’ve held an annual Blind Date where guests enjoy a special night out while dining blindfolded.
“Attendees get to see what we don’t see,” said Jean Peyton, one of the founders of Blindconnect. “It’s really an eye-opener for everyone.”
Blind Date is a "dining in the dark experience" where participants have dinner under sleep-shades in order to raise community awareness of blindness and money to support Blindconnect’s programs, including Angela's House. If you joined us May 24, 2017 you know that it was a wonderful event. There were 165 of us there. Your Board of Directors, led by event chair Diane Fischer, made this all work.
The silent auction items were spectacular. Thanks to Annmarie Feiler of Choice Center Leadership University who made the display both attractive and fun. Lots of spirited bidding followed. Three wonderful raffle prizes included Southwest Airline tickets and a stay at the Golden Nugget, a couples massage from ESPA at the Vdara, and a golf package at Beaver Dam Resort drew lots of eager participants.
The venue and the food were wonderful and the Vdara took great care of us. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a very special evening
We look forward to you joining us at this year's gala event.
